Rockchick...................

.........thank you card.

Now here is a card which I really enjoyed making, for various reasons. Firstly I wanted a card so as to send to Cass by way of saying thank you for a fantastic RAK which she sent to Jools & myself the other week, secondly because its the first time in ages I've done one of these 'girl' doodles.
For those of you that don't know Cass her fabby blog (a must to go see) "Pour some sugar on me" (hence the sentiment) & as she is a through & through 'Rockchick', gave me the inspiration for this lil lady. I just needed then, to find pp that I felt 'went' with what I was trying to achieve.

After searching through my pp, my downloads etc... I couldn't find what I felt was suitable, until I came across 'Prima Hybrid' site. Oooooh was this a find or a mistake?..........lol
This digital kit just screamed at me to be bought, along with another five. shhhhh...........don't tell hubby - there are quite a few more lined up that I want...hehe!

Anyway, this being 'Be beautiful', & I love all parts of this kit, its soooooo yummy!!!

I hope you can see from the piccies what the colours are, plums, greens, tawny browns....mmmmm.

So, all pp's & the flowery details are Prima hybrid, again my fad at the moment of distressing by ink.....lol. Computer generated sentiment, organza ribbon, pearls (effect) & my lil doodle which I have coloured in with my trusty pencils.

I hope she does look like a rockchick, but either way I'd love her hair & figure..............................pmsl.

Thank you for popping by & hope to see you again soon, happy blogging. Kerry xxx

Party time........

.....with Bella!! Sat having a play last night with this bella image (from Cass) & this is what I came up with. I felt the image was saying 'party', either that or I'm hearing things....hehe. So I wanted to some how put that across in the style of card. Paper is shabby princess, sentiments are rub-ons, I thought they went well. My lil curly bits are small strips of paper that I cut up & curled with the scissors, hopefully giving an impression of streamers. (well they do in my head........lol) And, to finish off a couple of self adhesive gems.

Now, I have a couple of thank you's, firstly to the very lovely Vicky (Vicky's Collection) for passing the Arte Y Pico (art & more) award on to me. It's so very kind of you Vicky & most appreciated, 'Thank you'. (piccie of this award at side of my blog) If you haven't checked out her blog, you must, fab cards, fab blog!! And lets just say her handbag collection is a 'WOW', a lady can never have enough.
Secondly, to another equally lovely Vicki (Paperlicious oasis) for a most gorgeous card I recieved from her today, I LOVE it!!! Again if you haven't popped by her lil oasis please do, another treat of a blog!

Many thanks for popping by, hopefully I'll be blog hopping later whilst hubby watches football, so I'm looking forward to seeing what everyone else has been up to.

My first Pink Petticoat image card......

Hello all, where are all the days going? I can't believe how quickly this week seems to have gone.........is it just me?
This weekends been just the same, mad cleaning day yesterday, we had another viewing on our house, this morning eldest played two games of football, sunday roast cooked, then off to a party with my youngest. How nice is it to sit down...........lol!

Right then, above we have my first card made with a Pink Petticoat image. The very lovely Cass sent a most wonderful RAK to Jools & myself last week with lots of images, PP's, Bellas.......Thank you sooooo much Cass.
This is the first one I've had chance to make up & really enjoyed doing so.
Papers are all Shabby Princess, sentiment stamped (I'm not to bad with the sentiment stamps...lol) Dovecraft brad & gorgeous lil clip from the candy Vicki sent me. For the flowers, I've used a Craftwork cards template.
The problem I've got now is that I have all these gorgeous images that I want to play with & make up into cards, but at the same time I seem to have had a burst of inspiration over the last couple of weeks & drawn loads of new doodles, which I also want to make up.........I need more hours!!! (I shouted that last bit.........lol)

Hope you've all had a fab weekend! Kerry xxx

New territories.......

Now, for the past few days I've been making some cards up with some of the images Vicki sent me. To be honest I've really enjoyed making them. As you might have realised by now most of the cards I make have my own doodles as the main feature, so to work with stamped images has been 'new territory' for me. I don't usually put my doodles onto watercolour paper but I think I will from now on as I'm pleased with the results it gives when colouring. Only thing is I think I need to look into investing in some good watercolor pencils as at the minute I use the poundland ones. Any suggestions on good quality pencils?.....

So, here they are....You might think I'm daft but I wanted this to look dirty as in distressed, the papers I chose to use already had a feeling of this so I just carried on....... Papers are 'kma' dirty laundry, cream & navy linen cs, embossed sentiment & lots of inking around the edges. Got to say I'm really pleased with how this has turned out, I think I like it!.....lol.

This one well........I kept changing my mind about the lo on this, still not sure if I like it or not. I like the image & how the colouring has turned out, I like the paper & I like the flower, but its one of those mmmm.....cards, but I do like how bright it is.....lol. Paper again 'kma' dirty laundry, pink bazzill cs, sentment (have fun) rub-ons, flowers I had from Jools & brad from Vicki's candy.

Cheers for popping by, Kerry xxx

Thank you.......

Hiya, don't know about everyone else but to see the sun shining today has put me in a lovely happy mood. Its nice to think that there's such a thing as the sun, considering we don't see much of it....lol.

Here is the next one of my lil girl doodles I did last week. I drew this with the finished card in mind, so as I could send it to Vicki as a thank you for all the challenge goodies she sent me. It was also an ideal opportunity to try & make a wallet card which I'd seen on other peeps blogs. With this one I just added a few extra bits, inside I used eyelets to hold the flaps down & then threaded ribbon through so as I could tie the wallet together.

Papers & letters are from a shabby princess kit called 'promise' . Inside I popped a couple of my doodles, 'hopefully' as a treat for Vicki. You never know I might pop some more freebie doodles on here at some point...........mmmmmm..............watch this space!!
Anyway, now I know she has received it I can upload it onto here, I think she liked it...

Now, I think I'm going to get back to some other cards I'm in the middle of. I'm really enjoying making them as I've used some of the stamped images Vicki sent me, new territory for me.....stamped images lol.

Thanks for dropping by & hopefully see you soon, Kerry xxx

Lil ballerina......

Monday morning again, can't believe how quickly the weeks go by....... Hope you all had a great weekend doing whatever.
Above is a card I made yesterday for a family birthday we have coming up. The lil girl is a doodle I did last week, along with a few others of the same girl in different scenarios. Hopefully, if I get chance through the week I'll make them up into cards as I quite like her.
PP is shabby princess, sentiment rub-ons & I've used some flowers from the yummy stash Vicki sent me last week. Must say I'm having fun using the images she sent me too, again when I can I'll be making them up into cards.

Thanks for popping by & have a great Monday!!

Above is a card I made last week & was going to put on here, but forgot...doh!
All papers & elements are from a digital download kit from Two Peas in a Bucket. I have then added a star brad, inked the edges & had a go at faux stitching as read about on Viv's blog, thanks Viv.

Enjoy the rest of your weekend & hope to see you again soon, Kerry xxx

Friday 18 April 2008

I've been tagged.......

.......... twice, by the lovely Vikki (Vixx a craftin) & the lovely Cass (Pour some sugar on me) & I have 8 questions to answer.

1. If a movie was being made of your life who would you like to be cast to play yourself? and why?
2. You are spending a whole month on a desert island for charity and you have to choose your favourite celebrity to spend the first two weeks with & your least favourite celebrity to spend the second two weeks with, who would they be & why?
3. What are your three favourite crafting products?
4. If you could invent something to do anything what do you think it would be?
5. What are the last three books that you read?
6. Qvc or create & Craft?
7. Docrafts or Dovecraft or DCWV?
8. What is your claim to fame?

Oooh err, I best do some thinking.........lol, OK....

1. If a movie was being made of your life who would you like to be cast to play yourself? and why?
Think for this one I'll say Nicole Kidman, but as she looked in Deadcalm. The 'curly' hair you see...
.2. You are spending a whole month on a desert island for charity and you have to choose your favourite celebrity to spend the first two weeks with & your least favourite celebrity to spend the second two weeks with, who would they be & why?
For this I think it would be the same person throughout. Don't worry I haven't gone mad but I'd choose Amy Winehouse. I think she is so talented & has an amazing voice, however she also infuriates me at the same time. Someone who has & could have everything but seems set on self destruction........
3. What are your three favourite crafting products?
My pen, my craft knife & my laptop.
4. If you could invent something to do anything what do you think it would be?
Something to do ALL of my ironing. Lets just say I'm not keen on it.....lol
5. What are the last three books that you read?
Harry Potter & the Deathly Hallows, Da Vinci Code, & can't remember before that, crafting seems to have taken over.
6. Qvc or create & Craft?
Neither, I could probably count on my fingers how many times I have watched them. Needless to say I've never bought anything from either. (never say never though...)
7. Docrafts or Dovecraft or DCWV?
Probably DCWV.
8. What is your claim to fame?
Can't think of one.......boring old me..........lol. If it were hubby I could list things, but not me, maybe one day?!.. (updated - having read Cass & Nessy' comms...lol, hubby has been on local/national news a few times. He's a Policeman & with the area of the job hes in, he & his work mates are sometimes on there. This totally confuses my lil one when we say spot daddy...& hes met a few famous peeps, no major claim to fame though)

Now I need to pass the tag along. I'm going to choose Jools, Vicki, Zoe, Sharon & Kerry. For those that have never been tagged it's easy, you just copy & paste the questions twice onto your page, you answer the second set of questions. You then need to make a list on the posting of the five people who you are going to tag. Lastly go onto their blogs and leave a comment to let them know to look at your blog as they have been tagged.

OMG!!!!!.............

WOW!!!........................................................................................................................
As I walked back from school this morning I was greeted with a parcel from our postie. Got inside, made a cuppa & sat down to open it up. Above is what I found inside.
I was gobsmacked & totally thrilled, this is the bling challenge candy from the most wonderful Vicki (Paperlicious Oasis) who is unbelievably generous!!!I can't wait to try these goodies out, it feels like my birthday...lol. Some of the things she has very kindly sent me are some stamped images which is a real treat for me, lil confession time............I am rubbish at stamping!!! there got it off my chest. Because of this I haven't got many stamps, another reason for why I do the doodles.
Amongst many other fab things she has sent a bling card & a wallet card. Must say I've always loved Vicki's cards but seeing them in 'real' life they are even better than I thought, just gorgeous.

Anyway, I'm now going to sit & look at it all for a long time, you know how you do with new goodies.....lol, then have a 'PLAY!!!!!'

Thank you Vicki, huge hugs. xxx

Monday 14 April 2008

Mmmmmm........

Good Monday morning, (hopefully) hope you all had a fab weekend & recharged your batteries for the week ahead. My weekend was filled with lots of house cleaning, trying to fit crafting & blogging in, eldest playing football, then all your usual things added in. However, yesterday I was in a fab mood as I won Vicki's (Paperlicious Oasis) 'bling' challenge, Woo Hoo!!!!!..........
To say I was chuffed would be an understatement, so huge thanks Vicki & Leigh. Got to say all the entries were beautiful!!

Anyway, the card above mmmmm......... I say this as I'm not sure about it. I've used another of the animal fur download papers from Free Digital Scrapping (only the tiger to go now...lol) along with some of my Bazzill cs & the sentiments are rub ons which I've had in my craft box for a while & had forgotten about. I have doodled or in this case more of a drawing, the zebra. I think thats why I'm not sure, I intended for it to come out as a bit more quirky. My safari pics didn't help much with this one so got one of my sons wildlife books out & think thats why its more of a drawing. Don't know if you're the same, you have a vision in your head of how you want it to be & if it doesn't end up like it then, mmm........lol.
Thanks for dropping by & hope to see you again soon, Kerry xxx

Awards......

I've had the pleasure of being awarded this very lovely award by Vicki (Paperlicious Oasis) & found it & her comments most touching. Thank you so much Vicki, must say I really value your friendship, support & encouragement, because of these reasons I am sending it back to you. Thank you!

Next I'd like to pass the award to Cass (Pour some sugar on me) like Vicki I've had the pleasure of getting to know Cass through Docrafts. She is another truley lovely lady who has given me so much encouragement with all that I've done & she too continues to give me inspiration.

Last but not least Jools (Simply Jools) my lovely SIL. For all sorts of reasons, &, because we don't see as much of each other as I'd like (we live quite a way from one another) but she is always there for me!! xxx

As with all other awards there are other lovely peeps who I would love to pass it onto but there are so many, so thank you all, this is also for you. Kerry xxx

'Arte Y Pico' award, I have also had the pleasure of being given this award again from the lovely Eve ( Eve's craft) so very kind of you Eve, thank you. If you haven't seen Eve's blog have a hop over, its really 'fab n funky' .

Giraffe fur, download paper......

Yeah! Found out where I got the papers from,

http://www.freedigitalscrapbooking.com/digital_scrapbooking_papers_assorted.html

They're in a set, giraffe, tiger & zebra.
HTH, Kerry xxx

Would anyone like me??.......

Thank you blogging buddies for your really lovely comments on my lil friend here. My apologies Stacey (Left handed blonde) if I have been teasing you & anyone else who likes these gorgeous creatures, but have found them enjoyable to doodle & also because I really like the fur paper I've been using.

Anyway, I was just wondering if anyone would like a copy of this lil fella. All I ask is that you respect my copyright & say where he's from & most importantly, let me know if you make something with him so as I can have a nosey.......I'd love to see what you could come up with! Maybe if you could pop a comment on here so as I know where to look, that would be great! (My effort is the previous post to this.)

So, please enjoy if you want to. Good weekend wishes to all, Kerry xxx

Friday 11 April 2008

Oops, I forgot.......

.......not really! This is a lil doodle I did the other day, I'd printed two sheets of the giraffe fur & so thought I'd use the other one. Again, the piccies from the safari park came out for help & this is what jumped out of my pen.......lol. The original doodle was bigger than this & when hubby first saw it his comment was "I'm not very keen, it's like something from a kiddies colouring book..", have to say I do agree with him but all the same thought I'd make something up with it. I did toy with the idea of the sentiment being 'Leave me alone!', as its not the most happy looking fella & then when I wasn't in the best of moods I could have popped it on the shelf as a warning.........lol. Anyway it can now join the other cards in my lil box, & live there happily ever after. Sorry, did try to find out where I downloaded the paper from, but couldn't.
Thank you for dropping by & I hope you all have a great weekend, Kerry xxx

You cheer me up award!.......

The very lovely Vicki (Paperlicious Oasis) has passed this award onto me. I must say it has cheered my day up too, so huge thanks Vicki. I now have to choose five blogs to pass this award onto, help........lol. There are so many peeps who cheer me up with their very kind & lovely comments & encouragement. So, I would like to pass it onto each & everyone of them, as it really is getting harder & harder to nominate lovely bloggers who haven't already received the awards, but, I will have a nosey around & may well update this later.......

Bye for now, Kerry xxx

Tuesday 8 April 2008

'Bling' or something like.....

Hi everyone hope your week is going well. Sat playing last night & decided to use one of my papers I had bought but couldn't bare to cut, having read a comment Vicki (Paperlicious oasis) had put with one of her cards saying the same thing. I'm popping it into Vicki's challenge she is running at the moment, to mark her 5000+ hits. She has asked for cards with 'bling' of any sort & of any theme, & has some yummy stash to give away. Not sure if this would class as bling but there are a few sparkly bits & the paper is glittered. The paper is from Craftwork cards, with the flowers cut from the excess pieces. Couldn't do a card without any doodly bits so if it counts my scrawl is at the bottom....lol.

On another note I'd like to say a huge thanks to Sharon (Shari anne happy crafter) & to Karen (Karens Playtime) who have both awarded me the 'Arte Y Pico' award. Your comments are most appreciated. This is the second time I have received this & its very flattering. Please excuse me ladies if I don't put it on again, but I did want to acknowledge that you had given it to me & give you both my thanks.
Saying that I think I've run out of peeps to pass it on to who don't already have it, so if you don't consider yourself awarded!

Happy crafting & blogging to all, Kerry xxx

Sunday 6 April 2008

Yeee...Haaa.........

Yee, haa...... its done! This is the card I was half way through when my printer ink ran out, thought I'd finish it off this afternoon. I started it a few weeks ago, doodled the boy then decided which papers to use, then left it alone then started again the other day only to stop again. Its for my Nephew who will be 5 on Friday, was going to put a silver star on with 'Marshall' on it, his name & I thought being a cowboy, but hubby didn't get it when I told him so thought a 5 yr old has no chance........lol. Found it quite comical the other day when I was blog hopping & saw the new images that Michelle (Card Grotto) was showing as an alert on her blog, that having a lil cowboy too. (think I need to ask Michelle what shes popping on her blog in future.....lol) All the same I'm really pleased with how this has turned out.
Papers & letters are shabby princess. Image & letters are mounted with foam pads & have used some of my bargin star brads from the NEC.

Thank you for looking & hopefully see you again in the week, Kerry xxx

Saturday 5 April 2008

Arrrggghhhhh.............

It's the weekend, thank goodness!! Have been rushing around all week with one thing & another........ but none of it was for crafting, until last night. Having run out of printer ink the other day, couldn't print any of my papers so thought 'get some ink next week & carry on playing then', however today is my youngest sons 4th birthday. Yesterday evening I realised I had bought pressies, cake, candles .......... but no card! arrrrrgggghhhhhh!!!!...........
So, mad rush to the nearest supermarket for ink & back home to make something for this morning, above being the result.
Looking through download papers I have I came across some animal fur ones. (downloaded them a while back & can't remember where from...) Inspiration then came from cards I've recently seen on Cass (Pour some sugar on me) & Julie's (Julie's Inkspot) blog's. They are both fantastic cards with jungle/wild animal themes by two very talented ladies, thank you both. Then just needed to doodle a giraffe, so out came some piccies we took at the Safari Park last year for guidence. Think its turned out ok for a rush jobbie but 4 year olds being 4 year olds Tom was more interested in his pressies!! lol.

Somehow I don't think today will be quiet but all the same will be fun, hope everyone enjoys whatever they do today!
Thanks for popping by & hope to see you again soon.

I Want To Craft!!.....

Hello all, hope you are all happy & well.
Many thanks for all the birthday wishes I received, it was lovely to read them & most kind. Didn't get back until yesterday as Hubby had also booked us into a hotel. (he has LOTS of brownie points at the moment...lol) Fab day spending far to much money, gorgeous meal at a lovely restaurant & just a tad to much red wine, oh well back to reality.
My problem at the moment.....I want to craft but can't! My Son's have gone back to school today so had to get things ready for them, we're having a viewing on our house tonight so I'm like a mad woman cleaning, (not that I don't normally, but hubby does call me Monica. Anyone who watches Friends, I tend to be a bit like her with my cleaning) & to top it all my printer ran out of ink last night when I was in the middle of making a card for my Nephew, which totally annoyed me as I really like how its coming on & wanted to finish it!
So, apologies too for not visiting your blogs, as soon as I get chance I will be back on here blog hopping & hopefully making some more cards.
See you all soon, Kerry xxx

Tuesday 1 April 2008

All the threes....

Hi everyone, before anyone gets the wrong idea NO I'm not pregnant, all the threes is because thats what I am today 33, yes I am a fool baby.......lol.
I was greeted this morning by my gorgeous babies singing happy birthday to me, bless. My lovely Hubby has arranged for the boys to go to my Mom & Dad's so as he can take me out for the day.....shopping! yeh! Then tonight we are going out for a meal.

This doodle was done at the same time as 'bundle of joy' I thought if you have a baby then there would have been a pregnancy, see not that much of a fool heh?! ..........lol.
I also thought it was fitting as just after I did this doodle Michelle (Card Grotto) said she was to be an Aunt. (if you haven't already seen Michelle's blog, which I doubt many haven't, you must)
The papers are again downloads from the epson site. I haven't put a sentiment on this card as I'm not quite sure when or for who I would use it, I'll just add that at a later time. It was just a 'playing' card.

Many thanks for dropping by & I hope you all have a fab fool's day!
