I said I'd explain......

Hello to all, I hope you are having a lovely weekend. Firstly I'd just like to say a big thank you to everyone who has popped by & many thanks to everyone who has left comments.

Now, I'll start by apologising to anyone who already knows this story..........once upon a time there were......oops thought it was bedtime lol.
Last year when I started drawing my lil images I had an amount of peeps I know & lovely docrafters who said I should do something with them. Me being me I was very flattered but just said 'thank you' & carried on as I was, my sis-in-law had other ideas. Cutting the story, she contacted Debbi Moore Designs & explained what I was doing. Debbi got in touch with me & the result was that she wanted to make some of my images into stamps. (tres chic, pirate girl, witch, ballerina...etc) This has resulted in, they are to go on QVC, but as yet I don't know when this will be. Debbi also has the stamps in her 'trade catalogue' & had them for ordering at the craft trade show which was at the NEC last month. All of this is out of my hands, so I can only pass on info as & when I find anything out, sorry.
However on a different note, I'm really liking the idea of having images as downloads, as has been suggested, like Pink Petticoat. Cor, I can just see it, me & Jools setting a business up crafting all the time.....heaven. (If only you could see me now, I've got a thought bubble above my head!)....lol. Shhh, don't tell our hubbies though...........
Maybe one day.
Until then I'm having a ball doing something that I love & enjoy & meeting lovely peeps along the way.
Cheers for popping by, see you soon,

Bundle of joy....

Here is the second of last weekends doodles, one of the Mom's at our school was due next week so I knew I'd need something suitable, hey presto........ then yesterday got a message to say the new arrival was here, so made the card up ready.
I quite like how 'unfussy' the image is. I have stamped the sentiment & used downloaded papers from the epson site.

Also, I gave my sil a copy of one of my images 'skater boy' & asked her if she could use it. She has, & the card looks fab!. It felt really good to see someone else' take, as usually when I draw something I have papers or the end result of a card in mind. If you fancy having a nosey, hop over to her blog 'Simply Jools'.

Thanks for stopping by & if I don't get chance to post, (but I'm sure I will try...lol) hope everyone has a great weekend.

Present time....

I've been playing!
This blogging lark is a nightmare. The more I blog, the more I want to make cards & the more I want to look at all the other fantastic blogs I've come across, along with all the other things like being a mom, doing the hou*****k (sorry, nearly said that word that crafters hate) please can I have some more hours in the day.
So, I sat down at the weekend & started doing some simple doodles, here is the first one. Really like these papers, they are downloads from the epson site. I have also used my new scalloped punch which I love. Only trouble is I want some more now! Hopefully I'll make the others up over the next few days.
Thanks for popping by & hope to see you again soon, Kerry xxx

You make my day award....

I have received this award from Michelle (Card Grotto) & Vicki (Paperlicious Oasis). Thank you both so much ladies.
As it goes I think I now have to nominate three blogs that I would like to pass this on to, however, as with when I was tagged the peeps I'd like to say have already been given this award. But I don't care, I'm going to give it to them anyway!

1. Michelle (Card Grotto) this is because I have loved Michelle's cards for a long time & find them & her blog totally inspiring, also as she has helped me in the past when I have fired questions at her. Thank you.
2. Vicki (Paperlicious Oasis) Same as with Michelle, love her cards & blog, Fab! Also whenever I hear from Vicki it always makes me smile & gives me a chuckle! Thank you.
3. Julie (Simply Jools) For anyone that doesn't know Julie is my sis-in-law, all this crafting lark is her fault...lol, she got me into it! However not just the fact that she is a fantastic person (you can pay me later Jools...lol) but anyone who can carry on making cards when they have their hand & arm in a bright pink cast gets my vote!!!!!

I've been tagged.....

Ooo errr..... I've been tagged by the lovely Vicki (paperlicious oasis) now, you've given me something to think about.
Here are the rules of the game:-Link to the person who tagged you and post the rules on your blog. Share 7 random and/or weird facts about yourself on your blog, we all want to know them. Tag 7 people at the end of your post and include links to their blogs. Let each person know they have been tagged by leaving them a comment on their blogs.Ok here goes:-

1. My eyes are blue, but a ¼ of my left eye is brown.
2. I once started falling asleep in a coffin. When I was 17 I played Countess Wrath in the school production of Dracula Spectacular & appeared on stage in a coffin. I had got in it earlier than needed, it was hot & I was tired. Seemed as good a place as any………lol.
3. My mom saw my now hubby at a school trip meeting when I was 15 & said she thought he looked a nice lad, that I would end up with someone like him, if not him. A year later we got together, the rest as they say is history. Makes you wonder, ‘mom knows best!’
4. I have a phobia of needles & have passed out on many occasions as a result.
5. I won’t watch scary movies.
6. One of the most exciting things I’ve ever done, a helicopter flight in New York.
7. My house is 'for sale' at the moment.

I've just read back through this & decided I'm such a girl! oh well...lol
Now for the 7 people who I'm going to tag. You know most of the people I thought of have already been tagged so, I'm giving an open invitation to anyone reading this not already tagged......you are now! (if you want to play) Kerry xxx

Skater boy.....

Boys & mens cards arrrggghh........ for me these are always ones I dread making, I'm a girl, I know more about them! lol. This was a doodle I did a while back, it then sat in a folder doing nothing until I used it for a brother card. (for a friend, for her son)
Whenever I draw anything I always scan them onto my laptop, back them up & then print them out again so as to put in my 'design portfolio'. (sounds far grander than it actually is....its a purple folder.) Anyway, this is one of the few boy doodles I have done so far but I decided to make a card up for myself with the image & this is the result. It will now live in a box with all my other doodle cards as I have only given a handful of them out.

The backing paper is a lovely denim effect, bought from my local craft shop. (great for boys cards.) I've then used some bazzill cs & used my lovely new crop-o-dile. Text has then been stamped.

Thanks for popping by & I hope everyone is enjoying their easter weekend, Kerry xxx

A few of my fav cards....

Hello to all. I'd just like to say a big thank you for all the lovely comments & welcomes I have received, I think my days have now been shortened, what with all the fantastic blogs I now want to look through....lol.
I've been looking back at the cards I've been making since last summer& thought I would share some of my favs with you. (apologies for peeps from docrafts who have seen them before.) I'm always very critical of everything I do so most of the time I feel I could have done it a little better, much to hubbys annoyance as he has to listen to me wittering on. In my previous life 'before children' I worked as a design engineer so I'm used to mechanical drawing (cad), things been measured & specific etc... To an extent I still do this with my card making, which results in me probably taking far to much time over everything & not just putting things anywhere as such. Mental note..need to get out of this, then I'd be able to make more.....lol.
Anyway here they are,

I think this was one of my first doodles last summer, I downloaded the paper off the web & came up with the image. I always wanted her to have red & blue hair......don't know why.

Wrote the sentiment & adapted a die cut of a nappy pin, the chain was off a keyring my son never used. My 'punk rocker' was born.

Once I started, I had all sorts of ideas, some were inspired by papers others by themselves. This was another one which I couldn't wait to make into a card & see it finished. The spider on the top was made from pipe cleaners. Originally I made a spider from fimo clay & was going to attach it somehow, but the legs kept falling off. Don't think I'm to good with it...lol. My youngest son didn't like this as the spider scared him. Again the paper was a download, I think from epson. Sentiment, rub ons.

'Tres chic' I drew this one then found a paper to suit from shabby princess. I entered this card into a comp on docrafts & was really pleased when it got through to the last 30, wasn't going to enter but sil talked me into it.

Sentiment hand wrote & lovely black feathers used....ohh la la.....lol.

I drew this lil girl & made it into a card for my eldest son to give to his friend. I was pleased with how simple but effective it turned out. Sentiment was printed from computer.

This is one of my girlie pirates, she & a couple of others came about because of the paper. 'Rusty Pickle - Pirate Princess' papers, I bought them from the nec show last November & loved them. The next day I sat down & started doodling, but then didn't make the cards up for a while.

Just had fun with this one & its embellishments.

Here is the last one. (hope I haven't sent anyone to sleep...)
This is my 'Gothic Fairy' I wanted to make a black & red themed card so came up with this image.
Sorry, can't remember what make the dotty paper was but I made my own text backing paper. The metal part (not sure what to call it) of the embellishment is from an old braclet I had that I never wore.
The fairy was covered in anita's 3d gloss so as she stood out more. I was really pleased with how she turned out.

Thank you for letting me share my favs with you. Oops have babbled on again, second mental note...........make my posts shorter....lol.

Where do I start?....

For weeks now I've admired other blogs & read through with interest, wanting to start my own. My biggest problem, what to call it, as every time I entered a name it was already in use.
So, here I am 'curly girly me' name says it all really. As yet not to sure how I'm going to do this, but I'm sure I'll find out.

My hobby, passion, & at some points pain is crafting, I love making cards & desperately want to get into scrapbooking. (but never have the time) I started this addictive passtime last year, my sis-in-law was already making beautiful cards & she encouraged me to have a go, the rest as they say is history.

I joined 'Docrafts' to help me along the way (my docrafts name 'kerryjo') & in doing so have got to know lots of lovely, very talented people. At first I didn't have a clue how to do anything, but decided the best way to learn was to have a go & play. This then led to me finding 'my style'. I kept asking my sil how would I know what I liked doing, she would answer "you'll just find out.."

What is 'my style' you ask, well I love beautiful papers, ribbons, brads, colours.........the norm really, but what I do like to do is doodle my own images to use on my cards. Having not picked a pencil up (for drawing) since I left school a few years back I've really enjoyed getting back into drawing & doodling. This has then led to other things but I won't bore you with that now, maybe later.

Now I've babbled on enough here are a few of the last cards I made with one of my drawings......

This is a lil girl I drew a few weeks ago & thought she was quite cute.

Dotty paper pink petticoat, you can't see very well but it's a lovely mint green.

Here I used shabby princess paper & added a bit of embossing, still think its fab when the powder does its magic!

I enjoyed making this one, again I used shabby princess papers, (some of my favs) & followed a tutorial for the card from splitcoast stampers.
I was pleased with how this one turned out.
Hopefully as I get into this blogging lark I'll put more of my cards on here & babble on a bit more.
For anyone who has got this far, thank you for having a nosey.

I've done it!!!......

Oh well, I've gone & done it........I've got me one of those blog things.
Don't know what I'm doing or how to do it, but it looks fun. Hopefully when I can navigate myself around I will post some of my crafty bits on here. Until then, here's to learning!
