New territories.......

Now, for the past few days I've been making some cards up with some of the images Vicki sent me. To be honest I've really enjoyed making them. As you might have realised by now most of the cards I make have my own doodles as the main feature, so to work with stamped images has been 'new territory' for me. I don't usually put my doodles onto watercolour paper but I think I will from now on as I'm pleased with the results it gives when colouring. Only thing is I think I need to look into investing in some good watercolor pencils as at the minute I use the poundland ones. Any suggestions on good quality pencils?.....

So, here they are....You might think I'm daft but I wanted this to look dirty as in distressed, the papers I chose to use already had a feeling of this so I just carried on....... Papers are 'kma' dirty laundry, cream & navy linen cs, embossed sentiment & lots of inking around the edges. Got to say I'm really pleased with how this has turned out, I think I like it!.....lol.

This one well........I kept changing my mind about the lo on this, still not sure if I like it or not. I like the image & how the colouring has turned out, I like the paper & I like the flower, but its one of those mmmm.....cards, but I do like how bright it is.....lol. Paper again 'kma' dirty laundry, pink bazzill cs, sentment (have fun) rub-ons, flowers I had from Jools & brad from Vicki's candy.

Cheers for popping by, Kerry xxx

Hi Kerry,
Seems really strange seeing you create cards without your doodles, but wow!! you've done excellently, and the 'dirty' look really suit these characters. Your colouring is fantastic...any tips for me....Love the papers, layouts and colours, especially Wilmas pink/green comb, beautiful and the flowers look gorgeous. The watercolour pencils I use are a mixture of Staedler (cheap ones), Reeves (4.99 for 24)and have just started collecting Derwent watercolour and inktense (lov-er-ly to use) xx vicki xx

I use the whispers markers & agree that the results are better on watercolour paper.

Hi Kerry
Great cards as always - love the distressed look - he looks such a little scruff.
I like Inktense or Whispers brush markers but was never very impressed with either of them until I started using watercolour paper - it makes a huge difference.

They are both great, I love the boy one being distressed like that, a bit like boys are when they bin out playing, LOL. I like watercolour paper and am now getting fussy on that too, I think Karen (Krafty Kizzy)is enjoying her prismacolors. I tend to use paints - ChrissyX
